Domain name complaints
In the unlikely event of needing to send a complaint about your domain name please email accounts@tne.co.uk containing the details of your complaint or please call us on 0114 251 3377 to enable us to solve your problem.
Domain renewals
An invoice will be sent 60 days prior to the renewal of your domain name and a reminder will be sent out 30 days prior to the renewal date. If payment is not received and cleared 5 days before renewal we will set the domain name to expire.
Reporting domain abuse
Step by step instructions below will highlight common examples of domain abuse, and explains how to report it.
Phishing is the process of illegally gathering personal information from unsuspecting parties. This is done using spoof email – where the scammer will send email purporting to be from a legitimate company or organisation – to trick the recipient into divulging their personal details.
To avoid falling victim to phishing remember that no company or organisation will ask you for your personal details via email. If ever in doubt, do not reply to the email and contact the organisation via other methods to make sure this is a legitimate email.
If you receive a phishing email purporting to be from either The Net Effect or from a site you believe to be hosted by The Net Effect, please forward the email to abuse@tne.co.uk and then delete it from your inbox.
Spam is the sending of unsolicited messages over the internet, commonly email or on online message boards and comments sections. This spam has the intent of encouraging as many people as possible to click a link or visit a certain website. Usually this is to further a malicious agenda, such as spreading malware to as many machines as possible.
If you are being spammed with links that direct you to a site hosted by The Net Effect, please forward any relevant information, including the domain name, to abuse@tne.co.uk.
Online Fraud can come in all shapes and sizes, but it can generally be classified as the use of online tools to defraud victims to take advantage of them, often by stealing personal information or payment details and money.
Common examples of online fraud include dummy sites that look just like the sites of legitimate companies – usually with a very similar domain name – which then attempt to get the victim to enter their personal data, which the fraudsters can then use to access your account, or steal your identity. Another example of online fraud could include selling a product or service online, and then either not delivering the product, or delivering a substandard product. In this situation it is usually very difficult, or even impossible for the victim to get their money back on this purchase.
If you have been defrauded by a site you believe to be hosted by The Net Effect, please contact abuse@tne.co.uk with as much information as possible, including the domain name of the site.

Cancellation of a domain name must be in writing and delivered to our trading address no less than 21 days prior to the renewal date. Transfer of a domain name to another registrar is free of charge. Transfer of a .uk name usually takes less than an hour, the transfer of .com names can take days due to the differing system.
Payments can be made via bank transfer, PayPal, cash or cheque. If credit terms are offered, then payment is required within 30 days of the invoice date. All prices are plus VAT at the prevailing rate.
Complaints to the company should, in the first instance, be made by telephone 0114 251 3377 or by Email. Any complaint will be dealt with immediately and a director of the company will oversee the complaint.
